Numb Tongues call Toronto their home. It is, to them, the perfect setting for a group of musicians to create a sophisticated and quirky brand of what they call Funky Punk. With catchy melodies laced with a tight rhythm section, they ooze musicality.
The band is made up of the lead singer, lyricist and founding member, Jonah Grinberg, who is known as much for his face-melting looks as he is for his sick melodic hooks. The other tongues: Tristan Lipton on guitar, and Corey Weinberg on drums. After releasing their most recent EP, “Cahoots”, in 2017, they are almost ready to hit you with a new one full of all killer singles which will be released later this year.
Among their influences are bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maroon 5, Audioslave, and The Police. Quite a mix of different sounds. You can’t pin them down. About their last EP, Jonah had this to say:
“Admittedly, I had no idea what I was doing since this was the first time I was responsible for the bulk of production work. But I knew one way or another, people needed to hear it, warts and all.” — Jonah Grinberg
After the success of “Cahoots”, the Numb Tongues’ star has exploded. You need to book them before they are literally out of reach.
